G.H.O.E The Best Homecoming On Earth

One of the perks for having a bestie like Mia, who graduated from North Carolina A&T University, is accompanying her to  The Greatest Homecoming On Earth or better known as GHOE.  The university has claimed this title since 1999 and it is a reunion with current and alumni Aggies; how students are addressed that attend/ed NC A&T.  This is my second time joining the fun and its always refreshing to see all of the young black professionals have a great time (see my first GHOE experience).  This event is a great time to showcase personal style and I did just that by channeling 90's sensation Blossom realness.  If you enjoy party atmospheres I welcome you to visit the GHOE for countless day parties, greek step offs, and fashion shows.  My personal impression was similar to the movies "Stomp The Yard" and "Drumline"  My entertainment came simply by walking the campus grounds where there were mountains and mountains of people. With my good friends I danced on the yard, ate great food and had a chance to meet many people.

Anyone that loves fashion may have November 6th circled on their calendars to mark the launch for the highly anticipated collection of  Alexander Wang and H&M collaboration.  For many Divadolls alike, H&M has always been the go to affordable fashion house to grab posh and structured pieces.  It was a no brainer they linked up with the uniform-inspired designer.  Alexander Wang has a genius way of merging active wear such as scuba material and technical fiber to beautiful pieces of wearable art in conjunction with luxe materials like snakeskin and leather.  Enjoy my top ten picks I can't wait to get my hand on, all ranging from $16-$350.

First Look | Christian Dior Capture Totale One Essential Face Serum

Nordstrom is known for high end luxury items; this stands true for their beauty products.  Its always a pleasure to accept any invite from Nordstrom to sit in while beauty gurus and professionals chat about the latest trends and products.  But its double the pleasure when I win a $600 drawing and score a Dior gift set.  Of course I was stoked to receive the delightful fragrances of Miss Dior and J'Adore Dior, but the real gem here is the skincare; a 1.7 oz bottle of Dior Cature Totale One Essential face serum.

At first, I tossed the burgundy bottle to the side for a few days without any real thought to using it. I'm approaching my thirties and even though I've been pretty lucky thus far with clear skin, I really should be taking better care of myself.  Could it be that this burgundy bottle will give me what I need?  At $125 per bottle this serum promises to rejuvenate and restore the skin's luminosity and brightness no matter the skin type.  So I added this product to my daily regime and will keep you Dolls updated on the results.  What has been the most expensive skincare product you've bought and was it worth it?

D.I.Y | Dripping Chanel Logo

One of the many ways to change the way a room looks is by the art on the walls.  As I redo my bedroom, I noticed my walls have been quite bear and in need of some excitement.  If you are anything like me you will find solutions like do-it-yourself projects as the answers to your decorating needs.  I feel in love with the Chanel art I found on Pintrest.  Follow below to make your own art.

The Inspiration
source: Pintrest
 What You Need
24' x 30' Canvas $21
Elmer's Glue $2
Hot Pink Paint $10
Basic Black Paint $5
Paint Marker $5
Newspaper
Tracer Light (from sister)

1) Tear the newspaper in strips and glue on board.  I choose to glue my strips in a diagonal pattern.  Try to bypass the ads and comics:)

 2) For an artsy look I left some of the edges frayed, feel free to cute the ends for a more clean look.  This step took about 15 mins.
 3) To stick with the artsy look I used a thick brush and painted the lines over top of the newspaper.  Notice how the vertical lines are not opaque, this way it helps the overall look feel vintage.
4) To obtain the perfect Chanel logos I used the help from my crafty sister Caress; she definently knew I was unable to draw the logo by hand.  We printed out the inspiration pic and placed it under the tracer which then projected the image onto the canvas.  Then I traced the logo with the marker pen as seen below.

 5) One the logo was traced I filled in two coats of the high light paint.  Once the paint dried Then I added a little water to the paint and created the drips.  Now this part was a little tricky because I had to stand the canvas up so to create the "drop" effect.  When this was done some of the paint followed the paper and started to roll sideways.  Not to difficult to fix and i plan to cleanup the paint with black paint.
After two hours of crafting, eating and watching Mindcraft with my little one I finally finished my project.  I adore Chanel and look forward to getting this canvas hung on the wall.  There is a finally step I'm still undecided about.  I'm undecided if I should clip the newspaper from the edges and paint the edges black.  What do you think?
