D.I.Y | Dripping Chanel Logo

One of the many ways to change the way a room looks is by the art on the walls.  As I redo my bedroom, I noticed my walls have been quite bear and in need of some excitement.  If you are anything like me you will find solutions like do-it-yourself projects as the answers to your decorating needs.  I feel in love with the Chanel art I found on Pintrest.  Follow below to make your own art.

The Inspiration
source: Pintrest
 What You Need
24' x 30' Canvas $21
Elmer's Glue $2
Hot Pink Paint $10
Basic Black Paint $5
Paint Marker $5
Newspaper
Tracer Light (from sister)

1) Tear the newspaper in strips and glue on board.  I choose to glue my strips in a diagonal pattern.  Try to bypass the ads and comics:)

 2) For an artsy look I left some of the edges frayed, feel free to cute the ends for a more clean look.  This step took about 15 mins.
 3) To stick with the artsy look I used a thick brush and painted the lines over top of the newspaper.  Notice how the vertical lines are not opaque, this way it helps the overall look feel vintage.
4) To obtain the perfect Chanel logos I used the help from my crafty sister Caress; she definently knew I was unable to draw the logo by hand.  We printed out the inspiration pic and placed it under the tracer which then projected the image onto the canvas.  Then I traced the logo with the marker pen as seen below.

 5) One the logo was traced I filled in two coats of the high light paint.  Once the paint dried Then I added a little water to the paint and created the drips.  Now this part was a little tricky because I had to stand the canvas up so to create the "drop" effect.  When this was done some of the paint followed the paper and started to roll sideways.  Not to difficult to fix and i plan to cleanup the paint with black paint.
After two hours of crafting, eating and watching Mindcraft with my little one I finally finished my project.  I adore Chanel and look forward to getting this canvas hung on the wall.  There is a finally step I'm still undecided about.  I'm undecided if I should clip the newspaper from the edges and paint the edges black.  What do you think?

DIY: Deep Side T-shirt

"Trendy is the last stage before tacky"- Karl Lagerfeld

Obsessed with a trend and want to make it your own? Me too!  But instead of me buying a top I've seen everyone in, I decided to create my own.  The deep side t-shirt is extremely sexy and simple.  Celebrities like Beyonce and fashionistas have been sporting this cute number all summer long.  By cutting the sleeves off of my t-shirt and cutting down the side of the shirt I made the perfect top.  (Be sure to stretch the shirt after cutting to create the 'rolled' edges of where you cut.  If you forget this step the cut edges will look cut/jagged.)  The entire DIY took about ten minutes to do and was extremely easy.  I actually cut one side too deep but the mistake was unnoticeable.  Now that you have your top...what to wear with it?  Try a modest tube or tank top, or be risky and wear nothing!  The ladies with the perky girls can pull that off,  I on the other hand cannot.  Three little words: cage crop top.  This magically crop top transformed my look from just trendy to fabulous with a touch of fierce.  When taking on a trend its important to make it your own and create a look that expresses yourself.   To style my look, there was a play with primary hues by wearing a red lip and blue waist tie to finish my sexy outfit of the day!

Color Crazed With Sassy Jones Boutique

One of the easiest ways to glam up any look is to add an accessory.  Looking for something different and bold? Check out Sassy Jones Boutique where they are experts on accessory fashion. I was contacted to review an item and when I saw the website, I feel in love with the entire store. With my personal style being unique with a taste of gaudy, of course I choose a beautiful multi colored statement necklace.  With a simple peplum tank top and jeans, my new neck candy dressed up my casual date night outfit. Pretty As F*&K!

Anyone that knows me can testify to the fact that I love to push the envelope with bright neon colors or expletives on my clothes.  It just so happens to be that my most recent look incorporated both! LOL, I am a sucker for DIY projects and I am constantly making new items to wear.  My top was shredded by Stedman as seen before here.  Grace Jones is one of my fashion icons and I used transfer paper to iron her on my shirt.  Want to learn more on how to make your own graphic tees?  Just comment below, and I'll make a youtube.  Check out my über girly case from Glam Goddess Accessories it's blinged out with all favorite things, be sure to check out her store.

Whimsical Life- DIY Day to Night

One way to ensure no one will have on the same outfit as you is to make your outfit.   I love finding clothes and altering them just a little to create a whole new look.  The DIY project below made it possible for me to use ONE dress to create TWO different looks for day and night. A few months ago I feel in love with a coral flowy accordion maxi dress from Forever 21.  I first saw the dress last summer in a mint color and decided against it because of the way my hips looked in the dress.  When I saw the dress reappear this year I knew I had to make it work and took the dress home with me.  Unsure how I was going to pull the dress off, I decided in the worst case scenario I could cut the dress in two at the seam and wear it as two separate pieces.....and that Divadolls is just what I did! Where the top and skirt was joined together I cut above the elastic part in the waist. Viola!  Now I had a cute half top and flowy skirt that became unique statement pieces I adore.
