Review Spotlight: Posh Shoppe

Hey Divadolls!  One of my favorite things to do is to online shop and was delighted when I found a new plus size boutique which carries up to a size 3X.  I was sent a few items to review and wanted to share my thoughts and opinions on the items.  Posh Shoppe is the name of the company and you can find their Facebook here.  Make sure you check out their website as well because especially for my readers ONLY you can save 10% off any item here!!!  Use discount code: CRYSTAL10.  Make sure you check out my YOUTUBE video to see what I think about the lace insert short sleeve leotard bodysuit and stay tuned for more reviews and outfits from Posh Shoppe.

What I Wore
Blazer- vintage Christian Dior (thrift store)
Bodysuit- Posh Shoppe
Jeans- Dots
Necklace- Aldo
Purse- Rue 114
Shoes- Dollhouse via Torrid
Watch- Michael Kors

Ok, so I wanted to wear this outfit in a day look to try and dress it down a bit since it is clearly a sexy, revealing top.  The lace insert short sleeve leotard bodysuit was apart of a colorblock look with yellow colored jeans and a jade colored blazer.  I dressed up this look with gold and black accessories with the heels and necklace.  The bodysuit is a 1X and fits well.  I wanted it to be a little tighter but since the fabric is stretchy it gives more space.  Over all love this top and plan to wear it with a maxi skirt, a body con skit and maybe a pair of harem pants!  What would you ladies wear with this top?

Posh Shoppe was founded with the goal of bringing on-trend, creative, youthful apparel that seems to be so hard to access to plus size women and girls. Posh Shoppe company wants to bring the clothes that the straight size girls would be envious of, and give plus size women a freedom of choice when choosing their look, as opposed to having their look chosen for them.

**disclaimer:  I was sent this item for review.  All opinions, statements, and comments are of my own. I do not receive compensation for anything purchased from this company.

Strappy Stripes, Girls Night Out

Short skirt meets high heels in this night on the town look.  I wanted to rock my latest obsession the Evangel heel from Jessica Simpson which is still on sale here.  This shoe is super, duper comfortable thanks to the built in sole cushion.  The gorgeous heel is very tall and the platform makes your legs look long and sexy.  I went to a night club with my friend Skye (follow her twitter here and Michelle too here) and we had a ball!  My dress fit like a glove. My dress was only $22 and detailed with a black middle panel and gold zipper.  Since the dress was a bold pattern I let my accessories bring in the color with color block earrings, popping purple nails and bright pink shoes.

Now the shoes have been a topic of much debate since they seem to be a duplicate of Christian Louboutin's Staratata from 2010.  Either way i love the Jessica Simpson shoe and will be buying the leopard pair too!

Maxin' & Relaxin'

I have been obsessed with DIYs lately and when my sister came to visit me, that was all we wanted to do!   We found a simple  DIY on tumblr from "Blackgirlskillingit".   A big trend this spring is the maxi skirt and dress.  By pairing my baseball shirt with an olive maxi skirt I was able to create a comfortable, lightweight flowing outfit.  My day look was accessorized with a jumbo quilt bag, big bracelets, and navy stripped platforms.  I love the skirt and can't wait to wear it again, maybe next time I'll dress it up.

Cupcakes & Champagne

Last weekend I had the pleasure of going to a great event.  I had a ball eating cupcakes and drinking champagne while networking with different vendors.  The Curvy Confidential Swap II event was hosted by Emiene Wright. Everyone brought at least one fabulous item from their closet to swap for another, and all the left over clothes were donated to in-need plus size woman.  The event was hosted at Red @28, a cute intimate lounge.  I wanted to wear a chic, fashion forward outfit so I paired a black blazer and accented my look with a royal blue bodycon skirt with coral pumps.  Fringe is very on trend for 2012, so I cut up my shirt and made my top (DIY coming soon). Also my sister, Caress (visit her Twitter here), was in town and came with me.  I styled her in yellow skinny jeans, a bleach denim oxford shirt (another DIY shirt as seen here), and brown chunky heel shoes. Our outfits are both fashion forward yet completely different!  Check out the fashions and fabulous ladies I met below:)

A Walk In The Park

This week has been a chill week to say the least.  I've been on vacation and have just been laying around the house and pretty much being lazy...but on purpose:)  One of my duties was to walk the doggies. Me being the divadoll that I am, I thought it was a good time to do a mini photoshoot of my outfit of the day!  A few weeks ago I found fringe leggings I've been dying to wear. I threw on a white collard shirt, my DIY shoes where I glued leopard fabric on the tip of the shoe and a DIY jacket where the sleeves were cut off a denim jacket. I accentuated this look with a pair of shades, a pretty choker style necklace.  I kept the makeup light and used Indianwood paint pot MAC for a shimmering eye, brushed pink gold on my cheeks for a fresh "Orgasm"  by NARS and finished the look with a popping coral lip!

Fashion Figures: Rue 114

I am drawn to bodycon skirts and dresses so naturally when I laid eyes on new designer Serwah Asante's collection: Et Dieu Créa La Femme” (And God Created Woman) I fell in love.  Rue 114 has been on my radar for a few months now.  I AM LUSTING over the Afripop Pencil Dress in taupe!  This line showcases the silhouette of a woman in the most beautiful ways.  African print detail gives power to the bold styles and show true to Asante's Ghanaian roots. Pieces are moderately priced from $100-$240. Rue 114 understands the need of "everyday woman" who are not a size 2 for well made and unique clothes.  The collection is made for straight sizes and plus sizes with a size range of 2-24, yippie!! Be sure to check out Rue 114 website and also follow on twitter!

Recently I won Rue 114's first "Spread Rue Love Contest/Giveaway" and was sent an exclusive tribal print clutch.  There was a personalized note just for me:) I love the gold and black print as well as the gold clasp detail.  This clutch is definitely going to be a staple in my wardrobe!
