Valentine's Day Looks To Steal His Heart

If you follow me on Instagram (here) you already know I've made a vision board for 2014 of some of the new behaviors I want to take on.  One of them is to save money and to spend smartly.   I decided instead of spending $150 or more on one outfit for one night I should instead buy several pieces for many styling options. {Be sure to follow my YouTube channel here to catch the upcoming haul video.}

This blog post is about the fashions I did not buy :(  I have been window shopping all of these looks for the perfect Valentine's outfit.  Even though I couldn't justify buying these killer outfits for V-day, I still wanted to share them with you.  Enjoy the finds below which are sure to knock someone's lucky socks off!  Remember when shopping for your Valentine's look to use one of the unwritten rules of fashion and mix 'Hi & Lo' items (meaning to mix a high priced or quality item with something less expensive yet chic).  You can make an outfit look like a million bucks without spending it.

Shhhhhh, Quiet On Set!

One of my many passions in life includes anything to do with fashion.  So of course it was right up my alley to be the creative director and master stylist behind the Vain Vixen by Luxe Vain Boutique's lingerie line.  This line will cater to full figure women to have sexy and sultry negligĂ©es.  For the shoot,  I had to be comfortable but still funky so I wore my latest steal from forever 21; the longline pullover sweater that I caught during their latest 50% off sale.   My big nameplate necklace from Lavish Dollz with the purple detailed letters always make me reach for any berry lip, so I opted for MAC's Punk Couture.  The classic combination of sweats and sneakers kept my look comfy, flashy and always fashion forward thanks to the Melody Ehsani x Reebok "Love" Sneakers.  How do I look?

Punk Couture, Rock & Roll

Sometimes a tank top and jeans is all I can muster together when deciding to head out.  I wanted to spike up my look a bit so I added my Sandy Spike Moto Jacket and Punk Couture lipstick to accessorize my look.  The star of the show was my custom made acrylic nameplate necklace from Lavish Dollz, which I fully adore!  To make my basic ensemble not so basic I wore my racer tank top backwards.  What do you think of my look?  Not too shabby in a last minute decision to head out to the bar.

Get It Right, Get It Tight: Snacks To The Rescue

80% of weightloss success is from the food you eat... 20% from working out.

That is the fact that shocked me to the core.  For years I've been focused on going to the gym, or jumping around my living room to work out with videos,  and even invested in personal trainers to lose weight.  During this time I had no clue that eating once or twice a day, skipping breakfast, or not getting enough water was doing more damage to my weightloss goals than the exercising did to help.

By visiting a nutritionist and also by doing research online I've learned it is imperative to increase your metabolism by eating more food. Crazy I know!  Eating more helps you lose weight..who would of thought it??  Getting healthy is a big part of my vision for 2014 so I've decided to share a few tips here and there with you Dolls because we need to be fabulous and fit!  This series: Get It Right, Get It Tight will be 5 segments of videos and posts talking about what I'm doing to get fit.

By eating small meals every couple of hours during my day I am able to speed up my metabolism and stay fueled throughout my day.    It's a good idea to preplan your meals so you can grab pack your food on the go.  By pre-packing food, its less likely you will make poor food choices during the day.  Try ziplock bags or visit your local dollar store for inexpensive tupperware. To help me remember to eat I've set alarms on my iPhone.  I do not starve myself and I find it less likely to pig out on a meal because I am no longer famished by end of the day.

My favorite snacks of the moment:
1. Apples and Peanut Butter
2. White chicken salad and crackers
3. Avocado, turkey slices, and cheese roll ups
4. Fage cherry greek yogurt
5. GNC Lean Shake Chocolate

Live In The Now

My mantra for 2014 is "Live In The Now".  Too many times I've declined invitations for a night out, or movie date or even hanging out with associates and friends.  Time seems to be passing me by and I don't ever want to look back one day and think to myself 'Man, I missed out.'  I decided to go out and get fancy and dolled up once a month at least in the new year.  To kick off 2014 I partied with good friends and rocked my MBD (mini black dress)- every women should have one.  To cover my legs I opted for the overly popular ZigiNY Piarry thigh high boots and a popping matte lip.

Who You Know Fresher Than C Riddle Me That

It's the rock! Thats what I heard with the legendary producer Timberland on the ones and twos kicking out bass for days and as you can tell I was hype.  Jay Z has never been my favorite, but I respect his work grind making himself a force to be reckoned with in the music world.  Thanks to my old boyfriend I am slightly obsessed with the old school Jiggaman and have almost every one of his albums.  During the concert you couldn't tell me I wasn't a hardcore rapper as I rapped to every song.  My outfit had to be casual and cute.  A concert to me is always so hard to dress for because you want to be fly but comfortable.  I chose to have a gansta boo look with my girl "Tims" the very on trend Z Lo boot by ZigiNY.  My white distressed jeans made a comeback from the summertime from where I last wore them to the Beyonce concert as seen here.  Denim always screams casual and comfortable so I completed my concert look with the highly coveted wrap denim jacket from a local woman's boutique in Charlotte called The House Of Chanel.
