A Walk In The Park

This fall I vowed to become more active and attend various events in and around my home city.  To close out the summer and welcome the fall there was a Festival In The Park event I was excited to check out.  This festival was huge!  The park was transformed into a game center with rides, a shopping market with different vendors, and a concert with live music and of course great food!  My mini me enjoyed her first funnel cake and I loved my italian sausage with pepper.  It was appropriate to wear my over the knee black suede boots for the first day of Autumn, but I kept Summer alive with an oversized, lightweight coral draped shirt.  My chunky accessories made my look complete along with my Nina Mosley- Autumn perfect brown lip.

Punk Glam Rhythm & Blues

Casual, punk rock glam is how I decided to rock out at the Mary J. Blige, D'Angelo, and Melani Fiona concert. Plain and simple for a concert?  Definitely not me! I went against the "no white after Labor Day" rule of fashion and decided to rock white jeans which I distressed myself (DIY coming soon).   The punk look was achieved with a custom shredded t-shirt designed and created by Stello Designs- a local designer here in Charlotte (For more information or to place orders for a custom piece email stellodesigns@gmail.com)  I added my own flare to the shirt by making the sleeves shorter and making the front of the shirt cropped. With a cream eyelid and orange color in my eye crease I framed my face with dark eyebrows and a dark lip.  My lip is lined with MAC Night Moth lip liner, in the middle of my lip is Ka'oir Rude Girl and MAC Yung Rapunzel is put all over.  My night was filled with tunes and melodies and I enjoyed every minute of it! Oh, and Melani Fiona can SANG!

Mermaid Love The Bold & Beautiful

With the change in seasons I welcome the change in my wardrobe.  I trade in the sandals for boots, tank tops for blazers and of course change up my makeup palette.  Ever since I've seen Nina Moseley's (character from my favorite movie Love Jones) lip color, a deep dark chocolate brown I've been inspired to try dark richer lipsticks. One of my latest purchases included Media - a deep reddish purple satin color and Yung Rapunxel -a deep plum cream color from MAC cosmetics.  My lips were the main focus of my face so I lined my lips with MAC Burgundy lip pencil and kept my eyes simple with an orange hue eyeshadow with black eyeliner.  My dress was also simple with a black form fitted dress and minimal accessories.

MAC Media $15

The second lipstick I bought is Yung Rapunxel which is as bold and shocking as rapper Azealia Banks.  This shade is a deep purple with shimmer through out the cream.  There is a major difference in how the color photographs with or without a flash.  Either way I'm happy to have it in my collection and it will be in constant rotation this season.  Finally happy with my dark purple collections and now on the search for deep blood reds, any suggestions?

Sexy In The City

Labor Day is just not a day off from work for me each year but also a celebration for my best friend since 1994 Selina's birthday.  This year we hung out in Atlanta with a few friends including Mia for the LGBT Pride weekend.  I LIVE for fashion freedom and can explore my dramatic fashion picks during the most judgment-free atmosphere I've ever been in.  Blue hair and blue lips sounds very punk rock and I never thought I could pull the look off.  After seeing my younger sister with blue hair, I gave a second thought to the color and decided to dye my previous installed Brazilian Chic Elegance virgin hair  first seen here.  As a result, the hair came out better than I imagined and my stage was set for my party filled weekend.

Heading to people watch and pick a few items from gorgeous Lenox Mall.  I wore a body con tank dress from Forever 21 and made the look casual with a jean vest and sandals.

"Rude Girl"  is the lip color by Kaoir with MAC Magenta lip liner.

Spending time with the bestie and Mia at The Loft, a club in Atlanta.  Decked out with Asos's  body conscience dress in monochrome aztec print midi dress, "Pool Party" lipstick from Kaoir and cool grey eyes.  I popped the outfit with orange flavored earrings and popping Luchiny Rest Up shows originally seen worn here.

Before heading to Piedmont Park we grabbed lunch. A shrimp and bacon sandwich from the Cheesecake Factory and a refreshing pineapple mojito.  The arm candy is Micheal Kor watch and a BCBG Generation charm bracelet.  My outfit was a bit risqué with a mesh leopard tank hi-low top from Posh Shoppe.

The last look of the weekend was a form fitted peplum side dress in cobalt blue with hot pink MAC Candy Yum-Yum lipstick and bright pink shoes.  The venue was restaurant turned night club Aja.
