Unbothered, Belly And All- New Series

Have you ever had one of those days where you just 'wanna get away', maybe have some time to yourself or a day with your girls; a day-cation if you would?  That was exactly how I felt over the weekend so I decided to check out downtown Charlotte and find some fun.  With the Justin Timberlake concert and AKA BoulĂ© going on, the city was live!  The weather was 90 degrees plus so a light top and open legs were called for.  Instead of wearing shorts, I opted for very trendy distressed jeans I picked up from the House of Chanel boutique.  These jeans are available here and were the focal point of my outfit.  Openly, I am an advocate for fat girls in crop tops but I also am an advocate for shape wear.  I started the day without the proper undergarments and quickly made my way to the nearest Target.  The self expressions by Madenform tummy control panties made my belly smooth and I instantly felt a boost of confidence....not too bad for $15 huh?  Going forward, I will feature bold Divadolls on my blog that use the hashtag #UnbotheredBellyAndAll.  Love the movement?  Join in and use the hashtag on your social media.  See you fabulous ladies on Instagram and Facebook!

Gone With The Wind Fabulous

One of the goals I've been working on in 2014 is to be more social.  You're probably thinking, "Crissy, not a social butterfly??  Yeah, right!' but its true.  As a blogger and small business owner I know its important to network and find people that are knowledgeable in different aspects where we can help one another.  Recently, I was invited to an intimate brunch where I was surrounded by established business women and entrepreneurs like myself.  The brunch had a touch of a southern tea party with a twist of Kentucky Derby as we all looked gone with the wind fabulous in our fancy hats.  The #WomenWhoNetwork business brunch was more than just sipping mimosas and trading business cards.  When I left I felt a sense of encouragement and comfort and I am looking forward to the next event.  If you're in Charlotte or the surrounding area and wish to attend, check out the Women Who Network Instagram page here for more information.

She's Pretty For A Big Girl? Flaws Of Couture

SWERVE! Naw Boo, She's pretty period!  In society big women are not traditionally looked at as being beautiful especially in America.  When an attractive full figure woman is seen people usually say she has a pretty face or she's pretty for a big girl.  This statement sweatshirt from Flaws of Couture's Pretty Period Collection is challenging society and the views of the ignorant when it comes to size and skin color.  "Pretty For A Big Girl?" is a not a statement but a question; one that should make a provincial mind wonder and think about how a statement like such can make a person feel.  This top is a must have for anyone that wants to make a statement and support that big women can be attractive as any other size.   FOC also will be releasing a "Pretty For A Dark Skin Girl?" sweatshirt soon so be on the lookout.

Fun In The Sun: Miami Sweetheat

One of my favorite places to vacate is Miami, Florida.  I don't know if its the warm sun on my shoulders leaving a glowing tan, or the oversized drinks and delectable food, or the beauty and peace I find where the blue of the sky kisses the blue of the ocean when I'm lounging in the sand that has me in hooked on Miami; I just love it.  So I jumped at the chance to go party for Sweetheat, which is a LGBT event held every year in South Beach.  My bags were backed with 6-inch heels and mini dresses that I never wore.  I found I partied less and just enjoyed myself and my partner more so swimsuits and maxi skirts were all I wore. I also had a chance to review the company Swimsuits For All (check out the review here) and will be posting a full review soon. SwimSuitsForAll.com has full figure swimsuits in sexy two pieces as well as one pieces and cover ups.  I fell in love with the "Swim Sexy Black Halter Bikini" and wore it practically all weekend long!  I also wore a Rue107 swimsuit and adored it, but not together.  I know I will be in my new swimsuits all summer and I can't wait to get back to Miami.

Punk Glam Rhythm & Blues

Casual, punk rock glam is how I decided to rock out at the Mary J. Blige, D'Angelo, and Melani Fiona concert. Plain and simple for a concert?  Definitely not me! I went against the "no white after Labor Day" rule of fashion and decided to rock white jeans which I distressed myself (DIY coming soon).   The punk look was achieved with a custom shredded t-shirt designed and created by Stello Designs- a local designer here in Charlotte (For more information or to place orders for a custom piece email stellodesigns@gmail.com)  I added my own flare to the shirt by making the sleeves shorter and making the front of the shirt cropped. With a cream eyelid and orange color in my eye crease I framed my face with dark eyebrows and a dark lip.  My lip is lined with MAC Night Moth lip liner, in the middle of my lip is Ka'oir Rude Girl and MAC Yung Rapunzel is put all over.  My night was filled with tunes and melodies and I enjoyed every minute of it! Oh, and Melani Fiona can SANG!
